White House doctors urge Trump to lose weight as he nears obesity threshold

· Health USA

Donald Trump has gained 23 pounds over three years and now weighs approximately 238 pounds, placing him less than two pounds below the clinical threshold for obesity, according to a May 2026 White House health report.

Trump, who stands 6 feet 3 inches tall, weighed 215 pounds when he was indicted in 2023. His current weight of roughly 108 kilograms marks a 14-pound increase from the previous year alone. White House physicians have recommended he improve his diet and increase exercise to lose weight. Dr. Stuart Fischer, a former emergency room physician, warned that Trump is "playing with fire" regarding his health, while Dr. Scott Kahan noted obesity is a strong risk factor for numerous conditions.

White House spokesman Davis Ingle dismissed concerns, praising Trump's sharpness and energy. Trump, who has joked about his weight by comparing himself to former President William Howard Taft, has said he has never taken GLP-1 weight-loss medications.
