UN convoy attacked by settlers as Qusra siege enters 10th day

· Conflict PSEISRUSA

A United Nations convoy delivering food, water and medicine to besieged Palestinian families in Qusra was attacked by Israeli settlers before reaching the homes, as the standoff entered its 10th day on Monday.

The siege began on 9 August when settlers surrounded houses belonging to the Abu Rida and Hassan families in the Ras al-Ain area, cutting water and electricity to 15 residents including two children under seven. The Israeli military later ordered occupants of two homes into a third and declared the area a closed military zone, blocking journalists and activists while settlers remained. U.S. Ambassador Mike Huckabee described the settlers as "terrorists", and Loui Ridi, a U.S. citizen from Toledo, Ohio, returned to enter his besieged home.

The military restored water supplies damaged by settlers and posted fixed patrols, though no settlers have been arrested.
