Israeli settlers set fire to at least two mosques in the occupied West Bank, torching the Al-Rahma mosque in Qusra near Nablus and a second mosque in the village of Kour while spraying graffiti including the word "revenge."
The attacks follow a deadly clash near the village of Tal on July 24 that left four Palestinians and two Israelis dead. Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu ordered a military crackdown, and the Israel Defense Forces subsequently arrested roughly 80 Palestinians in raids across the territory. The military also sealed the home of a Palestinian suspect linked to the Tal shooting ahead of a planned demolition.
Finance Minister Betzalel Smotrich simultaneously announced approval for 763 new housing units in the Eli settlement.
