Two Palestinian men were killed and three others seriously wounded when Israeli settlers entered a village near Ramallah in the occupied West Bank, according to the Palestinian news agency WAFA. The dead were identified as Odeh Abdul Rahim Farakhneh, 53, and Ahmed Adel Abu Makhoo, 26, shot during clashes that reportedly erupted over a livestock dispute.
The Israel Defense Forces said troops responded with live fire after Palestinians threw stones and concrete blocks, injuring two soldiers. The army said it would investigate the incident.
Separately, settlers torched a mosque and two homes in the Hebron area and injured four Palestinians in Nablus. Israeli forces also arrested at least eight Palestinians, including two Palestinian Authority police officers. The United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs has said settler violence reached a record pace of six attacks per day, displacing more than 2,200 Palestinians this year.
