The U.S. Army has awarded Lockheed Martin a contract valued at up to $58.6 billion to manufacture Patriot interceptor missiles, replacing a one-year, $4.7 billion agreement from April with a seven-year procurement plan spanning fiscal 2026 through 2032.
Lockheed Martin intends to triple PAC-3 MSE production capacity by late 2030 and will raise headcount at its Camden, Arkansas facility by 50 percent, bringing the workforce to roughly 1,850. The company is also committing $8 billion to $9 billion through the decade's end to modernize more than 20 American sites, including new munitions centers in Alabama and Arkansas.
The Pentagon has secured a parallel framework deal with RTX to lift annual Tomahawk cruise missile output from around 60 to 1,000 units. The push comes as the U.S. military holds fewer than 1,000 Patriot interceptors and under 250 THAAD rounds, according to a CSIS estimate.
