Two gardaí hospitalised after processing seized vapes at Co Offaly station

Two members of An Garda Síochána were taken to hospital after becoming unwell while processing seized vape products at Edenderry Garda Station in County Offaly on Wednesday. The officers fell ill during the examination of the products, which had been confiscated from a commercial premises as part of an ongoing investigation.

The station was closed on Wednesday and remains shut on Thursday to allow for a specialist deep clean of the facility. Authorities have confirmed the building requires further examination following the incident.

Local policing services have been transferred to Tullamore Garda Station while Edenderry remains out of operation. The condition of the two hospitalised officers has not been disclosed.
