Andrew and Tristan Tate appeared in handcuffs and prison garb at a Miami federal court on Monday, where their lawyer declared the brothers will fight extradition to the United Kingdom after their arrest over the weekend on British sexual offence charges.
Attorney Joseph McBride called the case a "political witch hunt" and suggested the timing of the arrests was linked to former British Prime Minister Keir Starmer's decision to step down. The brothers now face 59 total charges in the UK, with 38 new counts added this weekend covering allegations between July 2010 and August 2017 involving four women.
The pair remain in US custody and are due back in court on July 27, with the final extradition decision resting with the Trump administration.
