Stellantis reported preliminary second-quarter vehicle shipments of nearly 1.6 million units, a 10% increase from a year earlier, as renewed product lines in North America and battery-electric gains in Europe offset weakness elsewhere.
In North America, deliveries climbed 38% to 445,000 vehicles, driven by new or refreshed models including the Ram 1500 HEMI V8 and Jeep Grand Wagoneer. Shipments in Enlarged Europe rose 5% to 762,000 units, with battery-electric vehicles providing the largest contribution and Chinese partner Leapmotor accounting for roughly 33,000 units. Gains were partially offset by 3% declines in both the Middle East and Africa and South America, blamed on regional conflict and a weak Argentine market, respectively.
The results arrive as Stellantis shares recently fell to their lowest level since the automaker's 2021 formation and CEO Antonio Filosa works to execute a €60 billion business plan through 2030. Full quarterly results are due July 30.
