A sequel to the 2003 romantic comedy How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days is in early development at Paramount, more than two decades after the original film's release. The project is in its "very early days" and the studio is currently searching for screenwriters.
Original star Kate Hudson, 47, is set to produce the sequel alongside Stacey Sher, whose producing credits include Pulp Fiction and Django Unchained. The intention is for both Hudson and co-star Matthew McConaughey, 56, to reprise their roles from the original film, which grossed nearly $180 million worldwide and is considered a staple of the romantic comedy genre.
The follow-up arrives amid a wave of Y2K-era nostalgia in Hollywood, with recent sequels and revivals drawing large audiences.
