Reform UK has outlined plans to make company executives personally and criminally liable for employing illegal workers, with fines reaching 10% of global revenues for offending firms. The party dubbed the proposed legislation the 'Deliveroo law' at a London press conference on Thursday.
Home affairs spokesman Zia Yusuf said the party would also pay members of the public for tip-offs leading to successful prosecutions and cap vape shops nationally at 1,000 through a licensing scheme. Yusuf claimed well over a million people would be deported under Reform's immigration plans.
Deliveroo said data cited by Reform dates back to 2023 and does not reflect the current situation. A Home Office source dismissed some proposals as empty posturing. Current law already allows fines of up to £60,000 per unauthorised worker and prison sentences of up to five years.
