Quentin Halys captured his maiden ATP singles title on Saturday at the Generali Open in Kitzbühel, Austria, defeating top seed Alexander Bublik 6-4, 7-6(6) in the final. Halys, ranked 83rd in the world, fired 17 aces and did not face a single break point against the world number 11 to become the first French singles champion in the tournament's history.
Halys had reached the final by beating Yannick Hanfmann 6-4, 7-6(2) in the semifinals, while Bublik dispatched Tomas Etcheverry 6-3, 6-4 in his semifinal match.
In the doubles competition, Lucas Miedler and Marc Polmans won the title, beating Jakob Schnaitter and Mark Wallner 6-2, 6-2 in just 57 minutes. The victory marked Miedler's third Kitzbühel title and 13th career trophy, and propelled him into the doubles top 20 at number 19 for the first time.
