Prince Harry cites mother Diana as parenting model in podcast before family reunion with King Charles

Prince Harry has spoken publicly about drawing on the memory of his late mother Diana when raising his own children, saying he hugs seven-year-old Archie and five-year-old Lilibet "extra, extra tight" after a difficult day.

The remarks came in an interview for the Joe Marler Will See You Now podcast, recorded on 9 July and released on 13 July. The following day, Harry, his wife Meghan and their children met King Charles III at Highgrove — the family's first encounter with the monarch in four years.

Harry travelled to Britain to mark the one-year countdown to the Invictus Games, which will be hosted in Birmingham. The couple, who relocated to California in 2020 after stepping back from royal duties, have seldom returned publicly since. Italian media confirmed the interview and family meeting details, describing it as Harry's first private audience with his father since 2022.
