Pony.ai and Uber plan to deploy more than 2,000 Level 4 autonomous robotaxis across five European cities under an expanded strategic partnership, the companies announced on Thursday.
The rollout will begin in Zagreb, Croatia, where a commercial robotaxi service is already in operation, with Uber users in the Croatian capital soon able to hail the vehicles through the app. The identities of the four additional European cities have not yet been disclosed. The partnership, which dates back to May 2025, will also extend into the Middle East as both companies seek to broaden their global operations.
The expansion marks one of the largest planned robotaxi deployments in Europe to date, signaling deepening integration of Chinese-developed autonomous driving technology into Western ride-hailing networks.
