Democratic Senator Jon Ossoff has drawn a sharp White House rebuke after mocking President Donald Trump's reliance on personal assistant Natalie Harp during an August 16 re-election rally, claiming the president wants to "travel with Natalie" on his "unprotected palace in the sky." Trump called Ossoff a "Pee-Wee Herman lookalike", while Communications Director Steven Cheung dismissed the Georgia senator as "the biggest loser in politics."
The remarks spotlighted Harp, 35, a former far-right cable host who joined Trump's team in 2022 and now carries a portable printer to supply him with news articles. She reportedly dictates responses to Trump's Truth Social account and was among a handful of aides who accompanied him on a decoy military jet after an Iranian assassination threat forced an aircraft switch.
Ossoff's reference also drew scrutiny of Harp's security clearance, which she obtained only after White House counsel raised concerns about her working in the executive mansion for over a year without one. Spokesperson Karoline Leavitt insisted Harp holds clearance like all staff.
