Ohio Republican Max Miller refuses to quit race amid domestic abuse allegations and Trump's doubts

· Politics USA

U.S. Representative Max Miller has refused to withdraw from his re-election campaign despite mounting domestic abuse allegations from three women and a congressional ethics investigation into his conduct.

The Ohio Republican told President Donald Trump on Monday he has no plans to leave the race, even after Trump reportedly warned him that "things aren't looking good" for his campaign. Multiple Republican senators, including his former father-in-law Bernie Moreno, have called for Miller to resign, saying he is unfit to serve.

Miller's ex-wife Emily Moreno has accused him of scalding her with boiling water, holding a gun to her head, and causing their toddler daughter to suffer a broken collarbone. Stephanie Grisham, a former Trump White House press secretary who dated Miller from 2019 to 2020, filed a restraining order against him on Monday. Miller, who denied the allegations in a CNN interview Tuesday, faces Democrat Brian Poindexter in November.
