Nuno Borges and Francisco Cabral advance to Bastad quarterfinals

Former tournament champion Nuno Borges advanced to the quarterfinals of the Nordea Open in Bastad today, securing his fourth tour-level quarterfinal highlight of the season. Borges, currently ranked world number 52, defeated Grigor Dimitrov 6-4, 6-2 in the second round. The Portuguese player, who won his sole ATP Tour title here in 2024, will match up against the winner of the meeting between Daniel Altmaier and Luciano Darderi in the next round. Dimitrov participated in the tournament ranked 146th in the world.

In the doubles draw, Francisco Cabral and Théo Arribagé also secured a quarterfinal berth. The duo won their opening match against Erik Grevelius and Adam Heinonen in straight sets, 7-5, 6-4. Cabral and Arribagé—ranked 25th and 21st in the individual doubles rankings respectively—are scheduled to face Joshua Paris and Adolfo Daniel Vallejo in the next round.
