Chelsea winger Mykhailo Mudryk is available to return to competitive football immediately after reaching a settlement with the Football Association and the World Anti-Doping Agency over a meldonium case that had sidelined him since November 2024.
Mudryk tested positive for meldonium while on international duty with Ukraine in October 2024 and was provisionally suspended two months later. The FA initially imposed a four-year ban, but Mudryk appealed to the Court of Arbitration for Sport. Subsequent changes to WADA's technical guidelines on meldonium meant the same test result would not have triggered a charge today. Under the resolution, Mudryk accepted the anti-doping rule violations and agreed to a period of ineligibility equal to the time already served.
Mudryk expressed relief that the process had concluded and thanked Chelsea supporters. The club confirmed it welcomed his return. During the suspension, Mudryk was unable to train at Chelsea's Cobham facility and maintained fitness at non-league Uxbridge FC.
