Motorcyclist dies after rear-end collision in Moss tunnel

A motorcyclist died following a multi-vehicle collision inside the Mosseport Tunnel in Moss, Norway, on Tuesday. Emergency services responded at 12:17 local time after reports of a serious traffic accident.

The rider was struck from behind and pushed into the vehicle ahead, police said. Despite roughly 40 minutes of life-saving first aid by responders and an air ambulance crew, the motorcyclist's life could not be saved. Police reported significant material damage at the scene.

The tunnel was closed in both directions and reopened at 19:08. Police said there is no suspicion that the car driver was under the influence and were interviewing witnesses and the driver. The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
