Moroccan authorities have reinforced security deployments near Ceuta and Melilla to intercept potential irregular migrants, after social media appeals organised a new mass crossing for 15 August. Police and gendarmerie tightened checkpoints on roads leading to the enclaves, with the Nador province recording significant force deployments.

Ceuta's president Juan Jesús Vivas asked Spanish foreign minister José Manuel Albares to reinforce the border after the July 30 surge he called an assault on territorial integrity. Vivas estimated around 10,000 participants remain, while Albares signalled Madrid intends to repatriate those who entered illegally. At least 1,400 unaccompanied minors remain in Ceuta, with Spain planning to redistribute them despite Morocco demanding their return.

The Spanish embassy in Rabat warned that irregular entry confers no right to remain in Spain or access the rest of Europe.
