Midwest Poultry Services has voluntarily recalled nearly 1.6 million dozen shell eggs over potential Salmonella Enteritidis contamination linked to two of the company's farms in Texas.
The recall covers white-shell and cage-free brown eggs produced between June 6 and July 3, with sell-by dates ranging from July 20 to August 17. The affected products were distributed to retailers across six states — Arkansas, Louisiana, Mississippi, New Mexico, Oklahoma, and Texas — and sold under brand names including Kroger, Simple Truth, Brookshire's, Country Morning, and Sunups. The eggs were pulled from Kroger stores in Texas and Louisiana and Brookshire Grocery locations in Oklahoma, Arkansas, and Mississippi.
The company has halted distribution of fresh eggs from the affected farms. No illnesses have been reported in connection with the recall.
