Medical drama The Pitt leads Emmy nominations with 25 nods

Medical drama The Pitt leads this year's Emmy Awards race with 25 nominations, including a best drama series nod and a lead actor nomination for Noah Wyle. The series, which won best drama last year, faces competition from seven other shows including The Diplomat, Slow Horses, and A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms.

Comedy series Hacks follows closely with 24 nominations, with Jean Smart nominated for lead actress in a role that could earn her an eighth Emmy. Apple TV+'s Widow's Bay secured 19 nominations, while Matthew Rhys earned dual nominations for Widow's Bay and limited series The Beast in Me. David Attenborough became the oldest Emmy nominee at age 100.

The nominations were announced Wednesday, with the ceremony scheduled for 14 September at Los Angeles's Peacock Theater, hosted by Mariska Hargitay.
