Madonna has become the first female artist to achieve a number one album across five consecutive decades after her latest release topped the US charts. "Confessions on a Dance Floor II," her 15th studio album released on July 3, debuted at number one on the Billboard 200, marking her 10th chart-topping album in the United States.
The sequel to her 2005 dance album has reached number one in 13 countries worldwide, including Australia, Britain, Spain and Canada. The record features guest appearances by Sabrina Carpenter, Feid, Stromae and Lola Leon.
The 66-year-old singer, who performed at Coachella with Carpenter in April, recently played Madonna's Club Confessions at Brooklyn's Knockdown Center. She is also scheduled to perform at the FIFA World Cup final halftime show alongside Shakira, BTS and Justin Bieber.
