Liverpool defeated Sunderland 4-2 on Saturday in Andoni Iraola's first match as head coach, with Kieran Morrison opening the scoring in the 13th minute before second-half goals from Dominik Szoboszlai, Federico Chiesa and Lewis Koumas secured the victory in front of 24,897 spectators at Nashville SC Stadium.
The win was tempered by an early injury concern, as Joe Gomez was forced off with a muscle issue in the eighth minute. Jeremy Jacquet, the £55 million signing from Rennes, was left out as a precaution, while teenagers Mor Talla N'diaye and Ifeanyi Ndukwe debuted as centre-backs and 16-year-old Josh Abe also made his first Liverpool appearance. Geodis Park paid tribute to Kevin Keegan before kick-off.
Liverpool's next pre-season fixture is against Wrexham in New York on July 30.
