Kuwait has accused Iran of attacking a power generation and water desalination plant, triggering a fire that forced multiple production units offline and left several military personnel wounded. The electricity ministry urged residents to ration power consumption following the strike, which Kuwait condemned as a violation of its sovereignty. A similar attack hit another Kuwaiti facility just a day earlier.
Iran's army said it targeted suspected U.S. military sites in Kuwait, while Tehran also launched missile strikes against Qatar and other U.S.-allied nations across the Middle East. Kuwait has emerged as one of the most frequently targeted countries since hostilities between Tehran and Washington resumed.
The United States intensified airstrikes against Iran, hitting bridges, electrical infrastructure, and a port tower, citing violations of a June 2026 memorandum of understanding. That provisional ceasefire has now collapsed.
