Italian police have identified the alleged perpetrators of a violent assault on a 26-year-old university student in a public park in Bari on 23 July, with two adults and up to ten minors accused of beating the woman near public toilets in Rossani Park.

The victim suffered nasal and ocular trauma and facial fractures and was taken to Bari's Policlinico hospital by emergency services. According to her account, two adults — reportedly the parents of some of the minors — threw her to the ground, after which children aged between 8 and 14 kicked her repeatedly in the face.

Bari's municipal police have interviewed witnesses and identified the suspected attackers. Investigations are ongoing.
