Erling Haaland has shaved his head, shedding the long blonde hair that became one of football's most recognisable looks, posting the result on social media just hours before Manchester City's Premier League opener against Bournemouth on Sunday.
The 26-year-old striker, favourite to win a fourth Golden Boot after scoring 27 league goals last season, had hinted in June that he would eventually cut his hair. City begin a new era under manager Enzo Maresca, who succeeded Pep Guardiola after last season, following a 3-0 Community Shield defeat to Arsenal in Cardiff last weekend.
Haaland, who has amassed 162 goals and 30 assists in 199 appearances since joining from Borussia Dortmund in 2022, invested in hair accessories company Bon Dep in 2024 and helped design a limited-edition range of hair ties that sold out within two weeks.
