Gastrointestinal outbreak forces postponement of Braga vs Gil Vicente league match

· Sports PRTAUT

A gastrointestinal outbreak at Sporting Clube de Braga has forced the postponement of Sunday's I Liga match against Gil Vicente to a date yet to be determined, the Liga Portuguesa de Futebol Profissional announced. The fixture had been scheduled for 20:30 local time at the Estádio Municipal de Braga as part of the second round of the Portuguese top flight.

The club was left with only ten available squad members, including three goalkeepers, after the virus swept through the team. The outbreak is believed to have been contracted in Bulgaria during the third qualifying round return leg against Dinamo Minsk.

Braga are set to host Austria Wien on Thursday in the Conference League play-off, and the timing of the illness raises questions over the team's preparation for the European tie.
