U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement deported former Indianapolis Colts linebacker Daniel Ogama Adongo on June 20, making him the first Kenya-born NFL player to be removed from the United States. Adongo, 37, was held at Miami Correctional Facility prior to deportation, following an immigration judge's removal order in March 2026.

Adongo overstayed his visa in 2016, the year his NFL career ended after three seasons with Indianapolis. ICE said he was arrested on multiple occasions for offenses including intimidation, assault, and disorderly conduct, and was convicted of criminal mischief in 2020, serving six months of a 364-day jail sentence. His most recent charges were filed under the Laken Riley Act, the immigration enforcement law signed by President Donald Trump in January 2025.

The deportation comes as U.S. immigration arrests surpassed 43,000 in June 2026, the highest monthly total since January 2025.
