A drone struck a US-owned floating gas storage vessel off Egypt's Damietta port on Tuesday, igniting fires that spread to a second ship and forcing the evacuation of both crews.

The attack targeted the Energos Winter, which flies the flag of the Marshall Islands, before flames reached the Gaslog Salem, British maritime security firm Ambrey reported. The Egyptian oil ministry confirmed no casualties and said the damaged vessels were moved outside the port.

Port operations at unaffected berths were expected to resume overnight. The incident occurred on the Mediterranean coast, where Damietta serves as a key energy export terminal.
