Deutsche Bank reported a pre-tax profit of €2.68 billion in the second quarter of 2026, a figure just below its record set in 2007, as strong trading activity drove earnings across the group.

Net profit rose 10 percent year-on-year to €1.64 billion, while the investment banking division posted a pre-tax profit of €1.3 billion, up nearly 60 percent from a year earlier. Return on equity stood at 11 percent for the quarter.

The lender also announced it will repurchase €500 million of its own shares in the second half of 2026, signalling confidence in its capital position as it continues to return funds to shareholders.
