Denmark will stage a men's professional tennis tournament for the first time in 17 years when the Kjøbenhavn Open, an ATP Challenger 50 event, takes place from 5 to 13 December 2026 at KB Tennis on Frederiksberg. The tournament marks the first Challenger-level competition on Danish soil since 2009 and will be the country's largest professional tennis event since Farum hosted a WTA tournament between 2010 and 2012.
The 32-player draw will feature competitors typically ranked between 80 and 300 in the world. Organisers opted for a Challenger 50 licence rather than a higher-tier ATP 250 event, which would have required a double-digit million-figure investment to launch.
The return of international men's tennis to Denmark after more than 15 years signals renewed ambition for the sport in a country that last held an ATP Tour-level event in 2009.
