Czech Member of Parliament Filip Turek was uninjured after his Mercedes G-Class collided with a hospital transport vehicle at a busy intersection in central Prague on Monday, flipping the other car onto its roof on tram tracks near the I. P. Pavlova metro station.
The driver of the Škoda Fabia, which was transporting biological material including blood, sustained multiple injuries including a moderate head trauma and was taken to a trauma centre. Initial findings indicated the vehicle was running emergency warning lights at the time of the crash, though Turek said he did not hear a siren and passed through the intersection on a green light, expressing regret over the incident.
Tram services on several lines were diverted for roughly 45 minutes along the I. P. Pavlova–Karlovo náměstí corridor while emergency crews cleared the scene.
