Conflicting reports emerge over Meghan Markle's potential role in The Gentlemen series

· Entertainment GBRUSA

Meghan Markle remains in negotiations for a role in Guy Ritchie's Netflix series The Gentlemen despite claims the deal collapsed, according to conflicting accounts from industry commentators.

Former Vanity Fair editor Tina Brown wrote on X that the duchess's role had been cancelled following intense public backlash to her reported casting in the show's third season. Brown cited the fierce criticism as the reason for the withdrawal. However, The Sun reported that negotiations are ongoing and Netflix executives remain eager to secure the 45-year-old for the project, with no signed contract yet in place.

Netflix has not confirmed a third season is in production, only that season two premieres on 3 September 2026. Markle, who rose to fame in Suits from 2011 to 2018, left acting before her marriage to Prince Harry.
