Boeing has secured an order for 100 737 MAX aircraft from Irish leasing firm SMBC Aviation Capital, the planemaker announced Monday at the Farnborough International Airshow near London.
The agreement covers 40 737 MAX 8s and 60 of the larger 737 MAX 10, marking SMBC's first commitment for the MAX 10 variant. The deal brings the lessor's total 737 MAX holdings to 450 jets.
The order arrives as Boeing seeks to sustain momentum after deliveries rose 12 percent to 314 aircraft in the first half of 2026, while the company narrowed its first-quarter net loss to $7 million. Rival Airbus is also in talks with SMBC over a potential deal for roughly 100 A320neo family jets.
