An Austrian appeals court has ordered the resumption of fraud proceedings against actor Jimi Blue Ochsenknecht, overturning a prior settlement that would have ended the case with a fine.
The Higher Regional Court in Innsbruck upheld a prosecution appeal against the diversionary resolution imposed in August 2025, ruling that Ochsenknecht's statements and repayment were insufficient to demonstrate genuine acceptance of responsibility. The case returns to the Innsbruck Regional Court, though no new hearing date has been announced.
The charges stem from a December 2021 stay at a hotel in Tyrol, where Ochsenknecht celebrated his 30th birthday and ran up a bill of roughly 14,000 euros. The amount was only paid in mid-2025, following his arrest.
