Apple on Monday rolled out the first public beta of iOS 27, introducing a significantly upgraded Siri assistant capable of sustained conversation, on-screen comprehension, and cross-app actions as part of the company's Apple Intelligence platform. The update also brings a refined Liquid Glass interface with adjustable transparency and new AI-powered photo-editing tools including object removal and spatial reframing.
The release extends to iPhone 11 and later models, though full Apple Intelligence features require an iPhone 15 Pro or newer. Safari gains natural-language extension generation and automatic tab grouping, while system-wide performance improvements include faster app launches and AirDrop transfers.
However, Siri AI will not launch in the European Union due to the Digital Markets Act, and the assistant currently operates only in English across eight countries. Apple also released public betas for iPadOS 27, macOS 27 Golden Gate, watchOS 27, and tvOS 27.
