Fashion designer Valentino Garavani named the Valentino Garavani–Giancarlo Giammetti Foundation as his sole universal heir, leaving a sprawling estate that includes historic residences, a superyacht, and Old Master and modern art to the Vaduz, Liechtenstein-based entity, according to his will.

Garavani, who died in Rome on 19 January 2026 at the age of 93, signed the testament before a Swiss notary in Gstaad in March 2023. It was deposited in Italy two days after his death, and the foundation formally accepted the inheritance on 15 April. Executors Giancarlo Giammetti, Ronald Feijen, and Marc Bonnant are overseeing the process. Assets already under the foundation's control include a 30-room villa on Rome's Via Appia and the 46-metre yacht TM Blue One. The 16th-century Château de Wideville near Paris also passed to the estate.

The Valentino fashion house itself is not part of the inheritance; Garavani sold it in 1998. The brand is now controlled by Qatari fund Mayhoola, with Kering holding a 30 percent stake.
