Retail investors have oversubscribed Unitree Robotics' initial public offering more than 8,000 times, driving the allocation rate to roughly 0.018% after subscription opened on August 10.
The robotics firm capped individual orders at 6,000 shares, meaning participants needed at least 75,400 yuan to apply. The company is offering just 40.45 million shares, representing only 10% of its enlarged capital. Trading on Shanghai's STAR Market is expected to begin later this month, following a precedent set by chipmaker CXMT, which surged roughly 470% on its debut in late July.
New listings on China's domestic market have averaged a 276% first-day gain this year. The fervour underscores continued domestic investor appetite, with German Chancellor Friedrich Merz having visited the company during a February trip to China.
