President Donald Trump cast his ballot by mail in Florida's Republican primary ahead of Tuesday's midterm election contests, records in Palm Beach County show. The White House confirmed that Trump, who has not returned to Florida since May, mailed his ballot on 13 August.
The vote stands in contrast to Trump's repeated characterisation of mail-in voting as fraudulent and a "scam". This marks at least the third time he has used a mail ballot, having also done so during a state legislative special election in March. In that same month, Trump signed an executive order restricting mail-in ballots ahead of the November midterms.
Federal courts have blocked the U.S. Postal Service from implementing parts of that order, and the administration has asked the Supreme Court to intervene. Florida voters on Tuesday will select nominees in races for governor and a U.S. Senate seat vacated by Secretary of State Marco Rubio.
