Trump's peace board plans pilot humanitarian zone in southern Gaza

A peace council established by Donald Trump is planning to launch a pilot humanitarian zone in Rafah, in the southern Gaza Strip, according to reports on Wednesday.

The enclave would be secured by multinational troops from the International Stabilization Force, while an NCAG technocratic committee would manage civilian screening and control access to the area. Only unarmed civilians would be permitted entry, and the Israeli military would have no contact with the civilian population or role in separating the zone from surrounding areas.

Construction in Rafah has not yet begun. The zone could serve as a starting point for the Palestinian technocratic committee's broader administration of the Gaza Strip.
