Three killed, 15 injured in explosion at Moscow summer cafe

An explosion at an outdoor summer cafe in central Moscow on Saturday killed at least three people and wounded 15 others, Moscow police confirmed to the state-run Ria Novosti news agency.

The blast occurred around 20:10 local time near a cafe on Kudrinskaya Square, sending emergency crews and an investigative team from the Ministry of Internal Affairs to the scene. Traffic in the vicinity of the square was suspended, and entrances to the nearby Barrikadnaya metro station were closed as authorities secured the area.

The cause of the explosion was not immediately disclosed. The incident drew wide coverage from Belgian and Polish outlets, with La Libre noting the toll of three dead and 15 injured.
