Three people, including the suspected shooter, were killed and a fourth wounded in a mass shooting at a home in Prospect Hill, North Carolina, on Wednesday morning. Caswell County Sheriff's Office deputies responded to the address at 352 Brooks Road just before 8 a.m. local time and found multiple people with gunshot wounds.
Sheriff Tony Durden said all four individuals were adult members of the same family. One survivor was transported to Duke University Hospital with a gunshot wound. Authorities said the incident was confined to the home and posed no ongoing threat to the public.
Investigators from the North Carolina State Bureau of Investigation were processing evidence and interviewing witnesses at the scene. Prospect Hill is a small community in Caswell County, roughly an hour's drive from Raleigh.
