The Intercept and the Freedom of the Press Foundation filed a federal lawsuit against President Donald Trump on Wednesday in Manhattan, challenging a subscription service that grants paying clients early access to his Truth Social posts.
The Truth API service, launched on August 1, charges between $60,000 and $100,000 a month for rapid feeds from 10 high-profile accounts, including Trump's own. The complaint also names Natalie Harp and Dan Scavino as defendants. More than 10 firms had subscribed as of an August 10 earnings call. Democratic Senators Elizabeth Warren and Adam Schiff have called on the SEC to investigate the service.
Trump Media & Technology Group is not a defendant, though Trump holds its largest stake, worth roughly $1 billion. The company reported a $238.1 million net loss for the second quarter of 2026.
