SpaceX shares rise as debut earnings report and insider lock-up expiry loom

· Business USA

SpaceX shares gained 7% on Monday as investors braced for the company's first quarterly earnings report as a publicly traded entity, scheduled for early August. The stock has fallen roughly 40% since its June 12 initial public offering, trading well below its $135 listing price and nearly half its post-IPO peak of $225.64.

The upcoming report on August 4 will offer the first public look at SpaceX's finances since the record $85.7 billion IPO. The company reported a $4.3 billion loss last year in its filings, driven largely by its AI segment. Two days after earnings, insiders will be permitted to sell up to 911.5 million shares, potentially adding selling pressure.

SpaceX's AI division has secured compute leases with Anthropic and Google that could yield $26 billion annually, exceeding the company's total 2025 revenue, and is reportedly in talks with the Pentagon over data-center capacity.
