Cabin crew at Scandinavian Airlines' Norwegian operations will walk off the job from 04:00 local time on Saturday, August 8, after voting down a recommended new collective agreement in a ballot that closed July 30.

Nearly 500 employees covered by Fellesforbundet will be called out, while the Parat union has filed a separate strike notice for around 260 cabin staff effective at the start of Saturday shifts. More than 90 percent of eligible members cast ballots, with a clear majority rejecting the proposal.

The dispute covers roughly 500 unionised cabin employees in Norway. Negotiations between SAS and Fellesforbundet began on May 11 and produced a tentative deal on June 24, but the membership ultimately refused to ratify it. The strike will proceed unless the parties reach a last-minute resolution.
