Rudi Garcia will leave his role as Belgium manager after the Royal Belgian Football Association decided against extending his contract, the federation confirmed on Sunday.
Garcia, appointed in January 2025, oversaw 20 matches and lost only once — an opening defeat to Ukraine in March 2025 — before an 18-game unbeaten run. Belgium beat the United States 4-1 in the World Cup round of 16 but fell 2-1 to Spain in the quarter-finals. Garcia thanked the players, sporting director Vincent Mannaert and supporters, noting Belgium remains in Nations League A and among the world's top eight.
Mannaert credited Garcia with restoring squad cohesion and said a new cycle is being prepared, with Mark van Bommel reportedly favoured as successor.
