Thirteen people were killed and five others injured when a pickup truck carrying wedding guests was crushed between two larger vehicles on a highway in Indonesia's West Java province on Sunday.
The group was returning from a wedding in Parean village when the driver slowed to make a U-turn on the northern coastal highway near Kiajaran Kulon in Indramayu regency. A wing-box truck struck the pickup from behind, pushing it into the opposite lane where it was hit by another truck. Three victims died at the scene, with the remaining fatalities confirmed at regional hospitals. The five survivors were hospitalised with injuries ranging from minor to serious, and the pickup's driver remains in intensive care.
