Patricia Greene, the world's longest-serving actor in a soap opera, has died at the age of 95, her representatives confirmed on Friday.
Greene played Jill Archer in BBC Radio 4's The Archers from 1957 until her death, a tenure of nearly 70 years that made her the longest continuously serving cast member in the programme's history. Born in Allenton, Derby, in 1931, she was appointed an MBE in 1997 and received an honorary Master of Arts degree from the University of Derby in 2017.
