Nvidia braces for second-quarter earnings as AI demand drives revenue expectations higher

· Business USAFINCHE

Nvidia is set to report second-quarter adjusted earnings per share of $2.09 on revenue of $92 billion, reflecting a 96% year-over-year surge fueled by its dominant Data Center business. The segment is anticipated to exceed $85.4 billion in revenue, with hyperscaler and ACIE sales contributing roughly $43.5 billion and $41.7 billion respectively. The chipmaker has also outlined gross margins of approximately 75% for the period ending in fiscal 2027.

U.S. stock futures dipped on Monday as investors positioned ahead of the results, with Nasdaq 100 futures down 0.6%. Higher memory chip prices are pushing server costs up, with some customers facing increases exceeding 15% for systems scheduled for early next year.

Beyond earnings, Nvidia announced a $500 billion capital pool with firms including BlackRock and Goldman Sachs to securitize its GPUs, while backing an 8-gigawatt data center in Ohio alongside OpenAI and SB Energy. CEO Jensen Huang has cited a $1 trillion cumulative revenue target from its Blackwell and Rubin chip families through 2027. Nvidia and Salesforce are among U.S. companies reporting this week, alongside a speech by Fed Chair Kevin Warsh at Jackson Hole on Friday.
