PAMPLONA, Spain — Nine runners sustained injuries but none were gored during Thursday's fourth encierro of the 2026 San Fermín festival, as bulls from the Álvaro Núñez ranch completed the course in two minutes and 32 seconds. A straggling animal stretched the run, slowing the pack toward the end.
Five runners were transferred to the University Hospital of Navarra with contusions, including one who suffered a deformed arm. Additional medical assessments at the bullring involved maxillofacial, cranial, and shoulder injuries. Two runners from a previous day's goring remained hospitalized.
The eight Álvaro Núñez bulls, weighing between 565 and 595 kilograms, will face matadors Morante de la Puebla, Borja Jiménez, and Pablo Aguado in the afternoon corrida at Pamplona's Monumental bullring.
